This Thursday, September 10^th , Rickey Watters, the former Bishop McDevitt, Notre Dame and NFL star running back, will be appearing at Dockside Willie's Restaurant, 449 South Front Street, Wormleysburg. Watters starred at McDevitt from 1984-86, was a member of Notre Dame's 1988 National Championship team and scored 3 touchdowns for the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XXIX. He remains the only player in NFL history to rush for over 1,000 yards for 3 different teams (the 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks), finishing his career with 10,643 rushing yards, 4,268 receiving and 91 touchdowns. Rickey will be appearing on behalf of the Big 33 Foundation which, besides sponsoring the Big 33 All Star Game, provides college scholarships for area students. Rickey will be at Dockside Willies from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Thursday, so come out and meet a true local hero and McDevitt football legend.
